Film director and Trilogy Media founder olóòtú (John Ogunnubi) has announced the international premiere of his short film 'Emotions and Anger' at the Lift-Off Global Sessions 2026. The OOU final-year student and Tems team producer will showcase the 'emotional' project globally this April.

What that teacher didn’t realize was that he wasn't looking at "slowness" he was looking at precision. John wasn't just finding a frame; he was building an ecosystem. Today, as a final-year Mass Communication student at Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), that same "slow" student has proven that when you build with intention, the results are undeniable.

The Premiere: Emotions and Anger


This week, the "roof" is officially on. olóòtú’s short film, "Emotions and Anger," is making its International Premiere at the Lift-Off Global Sessions 2026. Selected from thousands of global entries, the film is a masterclass in the "Street Noir" aesthetic.
At the heart of the film is a character that everyone will be talking about: the Spoken Word Artist. She is the personification of the raw, unfiltered human experience—a character crafted with the same poetic depth that olóòtú brings to his music management. Her performance is the "emotional engine" that drives the film, and seeing her brought to life on a global stage is a victory for indie creators everywhere.


A Seat at the Table: Peter’s Studio
It’s no surprise that potential collaborators are taking note. Just recently, olóòtú collaborated with Peter’s Studio, stepping in not as a student, but as a Guest Speaker and facilitator. Watching him command that space, sharing insights on how to build a creative brand from scratch, was a full-circle moment.


The Verdict
The 2021 cinematography teacher was wrong. You don’t need to be fast to be smart; you just need to be unstopabble. As olóòtú prepares for his graduation from OOU and sets his sights on the AMVCA 2027 stage, one thing is clear:
The building is finished. The roof is solid. And the world is finally invited inside.
